Submission Guidelines

1. Participation is open to all the members of KeralaClicks residing in India or abroad. Physical participation at the event is NOT mandatory but desirable.

2. Participants can submit up to 3 nominations for the exhibition.

3. All submitted work must be original, and the person submitting the nominations must own all distribution rights to the photos.

4. The nominations should fall in one of these categories – Art and Culture, Nature Landscapes, flowers (flora), wildlife, Street photography, Portraits, Fashion, Abstracts, Product photography, monuments, urban landscapes, cityscapes.

5. As the target audience of this exhibition is from Keralam, it’s desirable to have more nominations that relate to Keralam. But as many of our members reside outside Keralam and wish to participate in the exhibition, it is NOT mandatory to have the photos clicked in Keralam.

6. The photos can be in color or monochrome and in one of these digital formats – JPEG/TIFF/PNG.

7. The nominations need to be sent as a single zip file/multiple email attachments to keralaclicks@gmail.com

8. Please follow the instructions below while sending the nominations as email.

Naming conventions of the attached photos:-

OwnerName_FlickrHandleName_Category_Title.jpg
E.g.: – FredHosler_LifeLight_Portrait_Kathakali.jpg
(FredHosler is the name, LifeLight is the Flickr Screen name, Portrait is the Category and photo title is Kathakali)

The text of the email MUST contain the following photo release

I certify that I am the author or sole owner of the photo(s) and hold the copyrights for the photo(s) I am submitting to Drisyam@ananthapuri – Photo Exhibition by KeralaClicks. I grant ‘KeralaClicks’ unrestricted rights of usage of these photograph(s) for marketing/promotion of the Exhibition. This includes, but is not limited to, publishing these photograph(s) in print or electronic form for promotional purposes of the exhibition with due credits and acknowledgements.

9. Prepare your photos: adjust levels, curves, color balance, and other essential settings to produce the best looking images. Rotate photos as required and cut off all unnecessary parts.

10. Always try to submit the highest resolution file you have available.

11. Please avoid placing excessive frames, borders, vignette, etc. around your images.

12. Please avoid photos with your own embedded copyright notice, copyrighted logos or trademark, watermark, or a timestamp.

13. By submitting the pictures, the lead author/Individual submitting the photos to the exhibition agrees to take full responsibility for the sources and subjects identified and indemnifies the organizers regarding the content and subjects in the photos

14. Deadline for entries: August 05, 2009

15. All the nominations should be added to the KeralaClicks Group Pool.

16. Once the judging of the final exhibits is complete, the selected photographers will be notified electronically thereafter. The final Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity and originality, and the quality of the image. All decisions of the jury are final.

17. Once the participant emails the nomination, please update it below with the number of nominations so that the admins can keep track of the nominations and participants.Please DON’T post your nominations here.

18. Cost per Exhibit
The cost per exhibit will be Rs 450 (apx). This include printing, framing and other expenses like rent, brochure, inaugural expenses etc.

Keralaclicks is organizing a three day photography exhibition in Thiruvananthapuram during Onam titled Drisyam@ananthapuri. Our first exhibition drisyam2008 conducted at Durbar Hall Art Gallery, Lalithakala Academi, Kochi which was the first of its kind by an online group in India was well received by the public and appreciated by the media.
The success of our first exhibition and the enthusiasm shown by our members give us the confidence to organize this event during this year also.

Sale and donation

We are expecting some of the exhibits to be sold to the public and planning to sell calendars made out of our photos in the venue as it’s year end. We have decided to support Arya in a small way through the proceeds of the exhibition. Arya, a 4 year old girl from Mepayoor village, Kozhikode is suffering from Chronic Myloid leukemia and the treatment costs around 10 lakhs. Drisyam 2008 – a photography exhibition by ‘Kerala Clicks’ is a group activity which aims at sharing its members’ work with an audience outside Flickr and the internet. The exhibition will be the first of its kind in Kerala by a group in Flickr. All these days the members have been behind the screen and have interacted with each other through their photos and comments. This exhibition is also an excellent opportunity for the members to meet and know each other in person.
